APG Wholesale Portal Tax Policy

As part of the renewed launch of the APG Wholesale portal we will begging requiring valid tax certificates on file for all transactions beginning 03/01/2025. You may provide a tax certificate by either uploading directly through the tax page in your portal, or by mailing to your sales rep.

Tax will be assessed on transactions where there is not a valid exemption on file for the state product is being shipped to.

Drop Shipping

For transactions where you are utilizing APG Wholesale as a supplier to drop ship goods to a final customer you must provide a tax certificate for the state where goods are being shipped. As a nationwide distributor APG and its affiliates have nexus in all taxing states and is required to have a cert on file in order to not charge tax.

For questions regarding drop shipping nexus/cert requirements please refer to Avalara’s drop shipping guide or consult your tax accountant.

For most transactions you can upload a multistate certificate with your home state exemption number listed in the intended shipping state.

Marketplace Suppliers

If your product is exclusively sold on marketplaces that collect tax (IE: Amazon, Ebay, etc...) you may provide a signed affidavit affirming that the shipped product is part of a marketplace sale where tax will be collected.

International Freight Forwarders

For buyers who purchase exclusively for eventual shipment outside of the US you may provide a signed affidavit affirming the goods will not be sold in any US state and no tax applies.
